His research is focused on the reconstruction of past eruptions and their processes to better understand a volcano(es) history and future hazards.&nbsp;Alastair has experience in field geology, stratigraphy, geochemistry, geochronology, petrology and numerical modelling and has worked in both academic and government environments. He uses numerical modelling, observations, and laboratory experiments to address his research questions.
